Weight limits in Classic Physique

The IFBB Professional League/National Physique Committee has recently announced new weight limits in the Men’s Classic Physique division.

According to IFBB Pro League/NPC President Jim Manion the Classic Physique, first launched in 2016, is perceived as the middle ground between the Bodybuilding and the Men’s Physique categories. It highlights symmetry and proportion with the focus being primarily on aesthetic qualities in harmony with muscularity and conditioning.

Manion describes Classic Physique as a category for men who want to take their muscularity and size beyond the limits of Men’s Physique, but not quite to the extremes of Bodybuilding.

“The sport is constantly evolving as the athletes find new ways to express their physiques and the NPC prides itself on offering a platform for these athletes to realise their competitive goals.”
