Weider legacy honoured

The Estate of Ben Weider has granted the IFBB Professional League the exclusive right to use the Ben Weider name in a new series of bodybuilding competitions across the globe.

A new logo representing the Ben Weider Worldwide Classic has been approved for IFBB Pro and Pro Qualifier competitions. The Ben Weider name was previously used by the IFBB International in competitions such as the Ben Weider Legacy Cup and the Ben Weider Diamond Cup.

“The name ‘Ben Weider Worldwide Classic’ couldn’t be a more fitting title for competitions honouring Ben Weider,” said IFBB Professional League President Jim Manion. “Ben Weider created the IFBB Professional League, a worldwide professional bodybuilding, fitness and physique sport league whose athletes, judges, officials, promoters and fans have set the standard for excellence in our sport for over 50 years, starting with the 1965 Mr. Olympia.”
