Breaking into the top six at the Mr. Olympia this year will be a dogfight.
On the weekend of 15 and 16 September the best bodybuilders from around the globe will gather in Las Vegas to knock current champion Phil Heath from the United States off his throne and achieve the ultimate dream of any IFBB Pro.
Not only will fellow countrymen Shawn Rhoden, Cedric McMillan and Brandon Curry be gunning for Heath’s title but he will also flex against the enigmatic Egyptian Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay and Australian sensation Josh Lenartowicz.
Who can also discount the form of rising British star Nathan De Asha, Ghana-born William Bonac or Dutch mass monster Roelly Winklaar?
The greatest of all time
Amid this strong international opposition Heath will be hungrier than ever to equal Arnold Schwarzenegger’s record of seven Olympia victories. He has already expressed his desire to create the greatest bodybuilding dynasty to date. Eight-time Mr. Olympia winners Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman share the record for most victories in the history of the competition. No doubt Heath is on a high-speed train to smash their record on his way of becoming the greatest Mr. Olympia of all time.
Dexter “The Blade” Jackson looks more focused than ever to stop Heath in his tracks. Is Dexter past his prime or can he recapture the remarkable form he displayed at the Mr. Olympia in 2008 when he toppled the then reigning champion Jay Cutler? The legendary Flex Wheeler will also make his return to the Olympia stage as a Classic Physique competitor. Will he be good enough against younger competitors?
Fans of the sport will find out when the titans of the bodybuilding world clash on the Olympia stage at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
