March 16-18 – IFBB Arnold Classic Australia

Where: The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Australia

Any Arnold Classic is a big deal but the Arnold Classic in Australia is shaping up to be bigger than ever. Now in its fourth year the Arnold Classic in Australia will be the final competition in the career of legendary IFBB Pro Kevin Levrone. As part of the Arnold Sports Festival it will also offer over 40 different sporting events.

March 23,24 – PCA Conrad Nagel Xtreme Classic

Where: The Durbanville High School auditorium, Cape Town

The Physical Culture Association (PCA) in the Western Province is thrilled to announce another exciting show for the 2018 season. Named after bodybuilding stalwart Conrad Nagel, the show is touted as being the biggest novice show in South Africa. It will also be the only local qualifier for the British PCA Bodypower competition taking place in the United Kingdom in May 2018.
Athlete registration takes place on Friday, 23 March from 17:00 to 20:00. Pre-judging takes place on Saturday, 24 March at 09h00 with the main show kicking off at 17:00. Walid Karimi walked away with the honours in the inaugural Conrad Nagel Xtreme Classic in 2017 with the Overall title in the Junior division. Overall titles for the Men’s Bodybuilding and the Men’s Muscle Model Plus categories were awarded to an absolutely shredded Ravin Kolbe.

March 24 – IFBB Champions Arise Fitness and Bodybuilding Show (Arnold Classic Africa Qualifier)

Where: Sanlam Theatre, 11 Hoffman Street, Potchefstroom, North West

The IFBB Champions Arise competition is one of the most popular IFBB fitness and bodybuilding events in South Africa. It is not only an official qualifying event for the prestigious Arnold Classic Africa but also forms part of the IFBB Platinum League where athletes can earn points to compete in the Gentle Giant Classic. Athlete weigh-in and registration will take place from 08:00 to 10:00 with the pre-judging commencing at 11:30. The main show starts at 17:00. A ripped Juan Mathee won the Senior Men O/90kg section in last year’s competition while Themba Vakele did a great job at displaying his X-frame in the Senior Men up to and including 80kg section.

March 24 – Elite Athlete Extravaganza

Where: The Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City Casino, Johannesburg

Promoter: Drienkie Visagie – 082 449 4584

The Elite Athlete Extravaganza is a show aimed at preparing athletes for the sport providing a non-affiliated platform to encourage and enable them to reach for their dreams at a competitive level. A brainchild of former SA bodybuilding and shot put champion Drienkie Visagie, the fitness physique competition was like a breath of fresh air in the competitive landscape when it was launched in 2017. Some of the notable winners in last year’s line-ups were Zirk Engelbrecht (Mr. Elite Junior Bodybuilding), Osears Radebe (Mr. Elite Middleweight) and Jade Essop (Mr. Elite Heavyweight).

March 31 – PCA Rand Show Extreme Bodies

Where: The Rand Show, Nasrec Road and Rand Show Road, Nasrec, Johannesburg

The PCA Extreme Bodies will be hosted at one of South Africa’s largest consumer shows. Consisting of five divisions namely Ladies Toned Bikini, Ladies Trained Bikini, Men’s Physique, Men’s Bodybuilding U/75kg and Men’s Bodybuilding O/75kg the PCA’s Extreme Bodies at the Rand Show is definitely an event you cannot missed! The main show is hosted at 13:00. There will also be an opportunity for bodybuilding fans to meet and greet PCA Pro athletes.
