When do you use supplements?
Well, it all comes down to timing. Anabolism is at its highest in the mornings and straight after your workout.
How do you drop body fat effectively?
The best method I have used in the eight years I have been competing is to train on an empty stomach in the morning. I also use heavy compound movements with minimal reps. The product I rely on the most to shred for a show is USN’s Phedracut Lava X. The reason for this is to help my body with thermogenesis first thing in the morning. When I train I will also have USN’s BCAA Amino+ so that I can hold onto muscle and fight catabolism. Last but not least I use USN’s Bluelab 100% Premium Whey Protein after training to get nutrients into my muscles as fast as possible.
What else is essential?
I also use USN’s BCAA Amino-Gro to train at a higher intensity, 3XT Pump and ZMA.
What, in your opinion, is the best pre-workout?
The best formula I have tried thus far has to be USN’s 3XT Pump. The pumps are super insane and the level of vascularity you are able to achieve is unbelievable! When I use 3XT Pump I am also able to focus for longer and train harder. I definitely make use of it when I hit a body part like back because it’s extremely taxing on the body. I usually do the following:
5 sets of 10 reps of pull-ups
4 sets of 12 reps of bent-over-rows
4 sets of 15 reps of cable pulldowns
4 sets of 12 reps of seated cable rows
4 sets of 10 reps of deadlifts
What do you use for your intra-workout supplementation?
I’m a little bit of a freak when it comes to intra-workouts! I enjoy mixing USN’s BCAA Amino-Gro with BCAA Amino+ as well as two scoops of Creatine Monohydrate.
What does your post-workout nutrition consist of?
I usually eat 10 egg whites with 100g sweet potatoes. I would also drink 40g Whey Protein shake to help me with the consumption of additional nutrients.
What else are you taking?
I use USN’s potent multivitamin and mineral supplement ZMA before bed so that I can take full advantage of the sleeping cycle to add muscle, reduce fatigue and recover sufficiently between training sessions.
