According to bodybuilding expert Tom Venuto the top twelve worst fat-storing foods an athlete should never eat are the following:

  • Ice cream
  • Fried foods
  • Doughnuts and pastries
  • Candy, chocolates and sweets
  • Soda
  • Fruit drinks and other sugar-sweetened beverages
  • Potato chips
  • Bacon, sausage
  • White bread
  • Hot dogs and fast food burgers
  • Cookies
  • Sugary breakfast cereals

Now that you know what you should not eat, Venuto also offered his terrific twelve best foods you should eat regularly if you are serious about your physique goals:

  • Oatmeal
  • Yams
  • Potatoes
  • Brown rice
  • Whole wheat bread
  • Vegetables
  • Fresh fruit
  • Low fat and non-fat dairy products
  • Chicken breast
  • Egg whites
  • Lean red meat
  • Fish and shellfish
