The International Federation of Fitness and Bodybuilding (IFBB) has recently added a new Classic Physique division to its shows.
The rules for this new division will comprise of the following:
- Elimination Round: Qualifying round with 4 poses (Front double biceps, side chest, back double biceps and abdominals and thighs).
- Round 1: Semi-finals with 4 quarters turns and 7 mandatory poses (Front double biceps, side chest, back double biceps, abdominals and thighs, abdominals, vacuum pose for abdominals and a classic pose of the athlete’s choice).
- Round 2: Finals with 4 quarters turns and 7 mandatory poses.
- Round 3: Routine of free poses of 60 seconds.
The modality will have 3 categories by age and 9 categories based on height and/or age:
Juniors (under 23 years old): 1 Open category
-from 40 to 44 years old: 1 Open category
-from 45 to 49 years old: 1 Open category
-more than 50 years: 1 Open category
-up to 1.71m;
-up to 1.75m;
-up to 1.80m;
-more than 1.80m

The new Classic Physique division will be included in the upcoming Arnold Classic Europe to be hosted by the IFBB in Barcelona in September as well as the Junior World Championships in Ecuador and the Master World Championships and World Bodybuilding Championships in Benidorm.
