The Giant Killer of Mdantsane

Size alone was not going to win the Lightweight division at this year’s IFBB SA National Championships.

Lightweight Mveliso Tapi knew this from experience. Having competed in the contest for the past five years, he knew he had to come in super shredded to take his class. And that was exactly what he did. With the victory safely in the bag Mveliso was ready to travel back to the Eastern Cape with a sense of accomplishment but a call that came from the judges’ table took the 38-year-old by total surprise – he had beaten a host of top contenders to take the Overall title.
