The future of the Arnold Classic Africa

Questions about the future of the Arnold Classic Africa have been raised by local athletes since the break-up between the IFBB Pro League/National Physique Committee (NPC) and the IFBB International.

According to Wayne Price, IFBB President in South Africa, the Arnold Classic Africa will remain with the IFBB International and the newly established IFBB Elite Pro League.

“No, the Arnold Classic Africa is not a NPC event, and is not a qualifier for Pro League cards. The Arnold Classic Africa will be a qualifier for the IFBB Elite Pro cards. To compete at the Arnold Classic Africa you still have to qualify by competing at the IFBB sanctioned events as advertised and if you are selected you will receive an official invitation to compete at the Arnold Classic Africa in 2018,” Price said in a statement.

Tony Doherty, promoter of the Arnold Classic in Australia, has confirmed that his show will be sanctioned by the IFBB Pro League/NPC.

After parting ways with the IFBB Pro League/NPC, the IFBB International has decided to reassume its professional activities under the banner of the new IFBB Elite Pro League.
