Flex Lewis finished with 212

James ‘Flex’ Lewis will be defending his Mr. Olympia 212 title for the last time this year.

The Welsh Dragon and six time Mr. Olympia 212 winner has announced in a recent interview that September will be the last time he will compete in the popular bodybuilding class. Lewis was contemplating ending his competitive career after the sudden death of his friend and training partner Dallas McCarver in 2017 but decided against it.

“I have been called Flex since 6-years old and have been a fan of the sport since I was 12, ” the IFBB Pro bodybuilder said. “I joined my first gym at 15, stepped on stage at 19 for the very first time and travelled the world, winning titles all over. I won my Pro Card at 23 with an undefeated amateur record. Fast forward and now at 34 it’s finally time to say this 212 chapter is over. I will be finishing with my last 212 show at this year’s Mr. Olympia.”

Lewis, who lives in America, also revealed that if he does win his seventh 212 Mr. Olympia title this year, it would make him a very happy man knowing he tied Arnold Schwarzenegger’s record in his class.

Lewis personifies bodybuilding commitment and is widely recognised as the world’s greatest 212 physique. His retirement from competition leaves a large hole in the division.

Who do you think will fill that hole?
