Chris Nguta Conquers Queens Grand Prix

The Queens Casino in Queenstown in the Eastern Cape was the scene of glistening, tanned and ripped bodies at the weekend.

Chris Nguta emerged victorious on Saturday, 17 June in the fourth edition of the Queens Casino Grand Prix Body Building competition hosted by Physical Culture Association (PCA) South Africa. It was a big payday with the show’s prize money consisting of R78 000 and an additional R22 000 in supplements. A total of 73 athletes competed. Nguta, also known as “The General”, won the Senior Men under 75kg category due to his superb conditioning. He later walked away with prize money of R16 500 and the title of Overall Winner.

The junior line-ups showed promise with Lusindiso Danster in a league of his own. After winning the Junior Overall title at the Battle of the Titans V, he once again reigned supreme in Queenstown.

“I am delighted with how good the show went. The conditioning of the athletes was nothing short of remarkable,” says promoter and owner, Johnny Moutzouris. “There goes a lot of hard work into putting a show together and when you see the number and quality of athletes on the stage along with a packed hall, it makes it all worthwhile.”
