IFBB Pro Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay confirmed that he is looking forward to stepping on stage again at the Arnold Classic in Ohio in 2018.
The 33-year-old confirmed his participation in the Columbus-based event in an interview with former IFBB Pro Shawn Ray at the 2017 Kuwait Pro Show. Big Ramy won the recently held Arnold Classic Europe and was also the runner-up at this year’s Mr. Olympia. His victory in Spain sees him breaking American bodybuilder Dexter Jackson’s two year streak in winning the Arnold Classic Europe.
Big Ramy was also victorious at the 2016 IFBB Kuwait Pro Show and the 2015 Arnold Classic Brazil.
He broke the record for the heaviest bodybuilder to compete in the 2015 Mr. Olympia event, weighing 143 kg at the height of 1.78m. He is also one of the most popular Pro League athletes because of his size and personality.
Bodybuilding aficionados are now asking if 2018 will be the year of Big Ramy when the former fisherman, who was born in Egypt but now resides in Kuwait, will win another Arnold Classic title and perhaps even the Mr. Olympia? Only time will tell.
