Shun night time carbs

Will eating carbohydrates at night really lead to more weight gain?

The truth is – eating an excess of carbs at any time of the day can cause the scale to move in the wrong direction during periods of inactivity.

Nutrition Lie#3

Drop red meat

Will eating red meat raise your risk of cardiovascular disease or diabetes?

The truth is – red meat is incredibly nutritious as it is loaded with vitamins, minerals, quality proteins and healthy fats that are important for the body and brain.

Fat makes you fat

Eating fat won’t make you fat.

The truth is – despite fat having more calories per gram than protein or carbohydrates, eating more fat does not actually make people fat.

Nutrition Lie#5

Cut back sodium

We are constantly being told to reduce sodium in order to reduce blood pressure.

The truth is – there is no evidence that healthy people need to limit their sodium intake. While it is true that sodium can cause elevated blood pressure it is a contributing risk factor and not necessarily a cause of disease.
