Arnold: Bigger and better

The largest multi-sport event in the world, the Arnold Sports Festival, will grow even larger when an estimated 20,000 athletes from 80 nations across the globe compete in a record 75 sports and events from 1 to 4 March 2018 in Columbus, Ohio.

IFBB Professional League Bodybuilding and Strongman competitions will be featured at the Convention Center in Columbus as part of the 30th Arnold Classic. Divisions will include Bikini International, Arnold Classic Men’s Physique and the Arnold Strongman Classic finals. IFBB Pro League events will consist of the brand new Arnold Classic Physique, Arnold Classic 212, Fitness, Figure, Women’s Physique and Pro Wheelchair categories. The Arnold Amateur NPC Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure, Bikini and Physique championships will also form part of the sports spectacle.

Classic Physique new for 2018

New events in 2018 include Classic Physique (professional and amateur), axe throwing, body painting, equestrian, pickle ball, and a gaming tournament. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jim Lorimer have co-produced the Arnold Sports Festival since 1989 when it debuted as a one-day bodybuilding competition known as the Arnold Classic. “We are very proud to provide the opportunity for athletes, a majority of them youth, to compete at the largest multi-sport festival in the world,” Lorimer said in a statement.

Apart from bodybuilding Olympic sports will be featured at the Arnold Sports Festival including archery, boxing, equestrian, fencing, gymnastics, handball, judo, karate, rowing, a 5K run, soccer, swimming, table tennis, taekwando, tennis, triathlon and weightlifting. In addition, the 2018 Arnold Fitness Expo will feature more than 1,000 booths of the latest in sports equipment, apparel and nutrition and two stages which will host unique, non-stop competitions and entertainment.
